In a perfect world, a utility should be the first to know about the events on its water network.
Network failures are commonplace across aging pipeline infrastructure, with increasingly reduced resources against challenging operational budgets, climate change, and population growth.

With time to find the failures optimised due to automated burst detection, the workforce is kept out of the field unless a significant event leads to necessary repairs on an asset.
PIPEMINDER can also be connected to pulse output flow meters and water quality sensors in the field.
Alerts can be notified in real-time of thresholds being breached, for example, pressure and flow events, conductivity, chlorine, and turbidity levels.
A public API also facilitates the integration of 3rd party data to RADAR so that data from other sensors can be added.
This enables visualisation of the data on one graph, all together in one place for analysis.
At Evides Waterbedrijf, The Netherlands, following the deployment of PIPEMINDER sensors within a district metered area (DMA), bursts of varying flow rates were simulated at multiple hydrant locations.
A pressure wave from a burst travelled around the DMA and was detected by multiple PIPEMINDER devices which are time-synchronized (to within +/- 50 milliseconds) and transfer high sample rate data over the cellular network to RADAR, Syrinix’s cloud-based platform.
Collectively, the devices utilise the onset of the pressure waves and RADAR runs an automatic triangulation algorithm to calculate the location of the burst.
All this can happen in a five-minute timespan. The customer is alerted and knows immediately where to send field crews.
